Located North of Omaha, NE and South of Blair, NE on Highway 75. Fort Calhoun was platted in 1955 and named after an American statesman and political theorist from South Carolina, John C. Calhoun. Today, Fort Calhoun is home to just over 1000 residents and Fort Calhoun Community Schools.
THINGS TO DO
Fort Calhoun may be a small town, but it is full of fun things to do and visit. Super Bee Orchard is a popular place in the Fall; visitors can pick apples, honey, and purchase a variety of homemade items. Alpacas of the Heartland, open seasonly and by reservation, is known for their Wine & Alpaca nights. Every Fall they welcome the community to celebrate National Alpaca Farm Day. In the downtown area, there are plenty of great restaurants and bars; some of our favorites are: Longhorn Bar & Grill and The Rustic.
