Midtown Crossing & Blackstone
ABOUT MIDTOWN CROSSING
Midtown Crossing is a business district and neighborhood in Omaha, NE located between Dodge and Farnam Streets from 31st to 36th. A signature feature of Midtown Crossing is Turner Park. Charles Turner, a prominent real estate professional of the times, donated six acres of land to the city for the purpose of it being used as a park. Today, you can live, work, and play in Midtown Crossing; while many of the homes are over 100 years old, there are also newer condos, apartments, entertainment, shopping, and dining.
THINGS TO DO IN MIDTOWN CROSSING
Enjoy pizza from Smokin' Oak Wood Fired Pizza, grab a coffee from Storie's Coffee Company, or relax with a craft cocktail from Proof Whiskey Bar and Craft Cocktails, and more! Throughout the year you can also enjoy a variety of wellness events, concerts, and festivals in Turner Park; our favorite is the summertime Jazz on the Green series!
ABOUT BLACKSTONE
Blackstone is a business district and neighborhood in Omaha, NE located on Farnam Street from 37th to 41st Streets. The Blackstone District became quite popular in the mid-1880s when famous architects were designing incredible and lavish estates in the area; this was the "West Omaha" of the time. Fun Fact: After the stock market crash is 1929, it was difficult for families to maintain these lavish homes and these homes were turned into boarding houses and funeral homes....which made way for "Funeral Home Row" on Farnam Street.
THINGS TO DO IN BLACKSTONE
Today, Blackstone is no longer riddled with funeral homes. Instead, you will find amazing eateries and bars up and down the blocks of the district! A keystone part of the district is the completely renovated Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel, originally the Blackstone Hotel back in the day. Some of our favorite bars and restaurants are: Noli's Pizzeria, Mula, Nite Owl, Coneflower Creamery, Red Lion Lounge, and Scriptown.
